Collections, Framing, Installation, Appraisal & Conservation


Private Collections

The Art Store has been providing museum quality artwork to private collectors for 37 years. We gladly assist beginner and seasoned collectors to acquire, frame, light and install artwork. We also work closely with clients’ interior designers and architects to ensure a perfect placement of artwork.


Corporate Collections

The Art Store assists in acquiring artwork that compliments corporate environments and enhances the architectural features of a space. We use a team approach with the client, from beginning a collection through future procurement and installations with archival handling and museum quality framing.

Some of the services we offer include:  

  • coordination with architects, designers and building owners
  • art placement based on your blueprints and/or elevations
  • commissioned site-specific works of art in all media
  • delivery and standard or security installation

Framing

The Art Store takes pride in offering distinctive custom framing at a competitive price. We carry an extensive selection of frames from leading frame manufactures including the environmentally friendly EcoCare line. Using only the finest conservation and archival materials,The Art Store frames for longevity and protection of all works. All framing at The Art Store is 100% guaranteed.


Installation

After all selections of artwork are made and framed, the professional staff at The Art Store can install your art in your home or office. The Art Store is experienced in hanging art safely and correctly. On larger projects, we waive our fee for hanging works purchased at The Art Store.


Appraisal

The Art Store is unable to appraise artworks. We recommend that an accredited appraiser be contacted directly. The following information is provided to aid in your search for an expert in a field related to your artwork. For assistance with finding an appraiser, please contact:

The Experienced Art Store Staff

Lisa Fischer Casto has owned The Art Store since 2008.  As an art collector for many years, she enjoys being surrounded by wonderful, original art and an extensive selection of custom frames.  Prior to purchasing The Art Store, Lisa owned and operated a construction management company for over twenty-five years.  She brings her love of art, her business acumen as well as the ability to read and understand blueprints.

Ellie Schaul continues to serve as Gallery Director Emeritus after being with The Art Store Gallery Director for over twenty-six years. 

Maggie Starcher, the gallery registrar and curator, holds a BFA in Painting with a concentration in English from Rhode Island School of Design.

Tim Warden is the Frame Manager with over Thirty years of professional framing experience. Brian Humphries, brings over sixteen years of custom framing and art installation experience to The Art Store staff. Jon Salo completes the custom framing department.

Bookkeeper and multifaceted, Mary Brent Mclean, previously Mary Brent Galyean, is an integral part of our professional staff.

Gallery Director, Mimi Dinsmore brings more than eighteen years of national and international professional arts management experience to The Art Store.  Mimi is taking a leave of absence for most of 2010/2011 and will curate Katherine Kadish’s show opening on September 25, 2010 and Katherine Cox’s show in May, 2011.
