The Art Store
In 2008 Lisa Fischer Casto purchased The Art Store. Lisa comes to The Art Store from Solutions by Fischer, her construction management business where she was a licensed general contractor. She originally moved to Charleston to manage the construction of Laidley Tower and went on to oversee the development of many community projects including Capitol Market and the Family Resource Center. Her interest in the arts includes a vast private collection of fine art and service on several arts related boards . Many of the construction projects she supervised included the placement of fine art.
Gallery Director
Mimi Dinsmore joined The Art Store staff with fifteen years of professional management experience in the visual and performing arts. She holds a BA from Sweet Briar College with a double major in Anthropology and Sociology and a minor in Arts Management. Post graduate studies include two certificates with merit from Sotheby's Institute in London, England. She has worked for non-profit and for profit arts organizations in Jackson, Mississippi, Washington, DC and Charleston, West Virginia.
Community
The Art Store is honored to have assisted museums, government agencies, and institutions statewide with research, acquisitions, framing and other art needs. These include the Avampato Discovery Museum, the Sunrise Museum, the Huntington Museum of Art, the Museum in the Community, the West Virginia State Museum, the Charleston Civic Center, the University of Charleston, the Robert C. Byrd Federal Building, the Office of the Governor of WV, the Kanawha County Public LIbrary and over 100 businesses and corporations in the region.
The Art Store contributes to the cultural life of the region by presenting a diverse series of solo and invitational shows.We have earned a reputation for honesty and integrity with collectors, museums, artists, designers and dealers.
We welcome all art enthusiasts, visitors and students wishing to expand their knowledge of art.
